MORBID JEALOUSY DIARY Part 1

Irena was her father’s little spy! She grew up in a middle class family of 5, mother, father, three elder brothers. She was raised in a modern, classy and conservative environment. Her mother was hard working dedicated house wife don’t know much about outside life. She was a loving, caring and devoted tough mother. Everyone loved her. Irena’s dad was a high school teacher. He also was loving, caring and fun dad, yet he was tough, aggressive and short temper. He set rules and challenged his kids to follow or they would be in trouble. Both her parents were typical loving parents believed in tough love. Her father was strict and lenient on Irena and her three brothers. When Irena and her brothers became teenager and older, it was OK for them to have parties with their friends at home, dancing, drinking, laughing and having fun as long as they know their limit. Irena loved him dearly! He claimed he was an open-minded person. Well! may be he was with his kids, but not with his wife.

Doesn’t sound like a perfect family? So far, everything sounds so good. Well! Unfortunately, It’s not as good as it sound; not at all. Irena was not living the Brady Bunch life. She grew up with a morbid jealousy father in his relationship with her mother. He suffered from a Conjugal Paranoia. Although, he was a good dad, he was not a very good husband to her mother. Her mother was a victim of his mental illness. He psychologically abused and controlled her. This disease really took control of his life, because it left him no time outside of his world of accusations, suspicions and stalking behaviour. Basically, he tormented his family’s life. He constantly believed that his wife is unfaithful and attempted to confront her with anger demanding confessions of infidelity. He lived all his life chasing a delusionary ghost searching for proof to support his accusations. Surprisingly, everything he was accusing her of, he was actually doing it.

Conjugal Paranoia is very serious mental illness. People who have CP experience false delusions based on incorrect assumption that persist despite the evidence to the contrary. In the medical perspective the conjugal paranoia represents a form of schizophrenia. They usually feed their accusation with illusion interpretation of evidence; could be anything, from spots on clothing, body brews, wearing perfume, wrong phone call or to even unavoidable greeting or conversation with the opposite sex. Any of these illusions might be interpreted as an attempt to arrange a secret dating or interact with an existing secret affair.

In this blog you are going to have a closer look at how this mental disorder tormented the life of Irena and her family; they were repeatedly exposed to trauma experience caused feelings of extreme fear, distress and helplessness. Irena and her brothers were traumatized by family violence, and several attempt of suicide and homicide, numerous visits to hospital emergency, constant mental abuse. They were unable to control the situation and fear that one day their mother will get killed. This trauma experience effected their behaviour, and developed some symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder including impaired memory, impaired concentration, trouble socializing, daily nightmares, bedwetting until age 10, feelings of nervousness and anxiety, irritability, flashbacks and mental paralysis at any reminder of the experience.

(Problem recognition) In the age of 8 Irena started to comprehend the fact of an existing problem and fear seeing her parents fight.

Irena was her father’s little spy when she was young, to keep to keep track of her mother’s movement. At this time, she did not know or even realized that her father is using her a a spy. She did not really understand why her father always investigate her mother’s every movement.
